Well, during the beginning of this novel, Sage was clearly mischievous and very stubborn. He would steal food and other materials, and pull of devious pranks. Even after the plot thickens during Sage’s life in Conner’s home, he continues to be disobedient and rude. However, as the plot reaches the climax, we learn that Sage is actually Jaron, and that the reason why Sage is so disobedient and stubborn is because he was always naturally naïve but after his dad’s plan to disown him, he was forced to change his personality and this created a new persona for him, in which he is more thief-like and stealthy. However, he is a pretty caring and passionate person, with clever tricks up his sleeve.
